I frequently get feedback from the people that have purchased Pups or Started Dogs from us here at Jordan Valley. It's never occurred to me publish their comments, until now. I got these e-mails, along with the pictures, (some recently), and thought you might enjoy them as much as I did. Here they are: Oct 2005, Report on Started Dog: Jordan-Jerry, This was Kate's first weekend as a real bird dog and i can only say she could not have done any better. She found and flushed pheasants on her own made retrieves flawlessly every time and hunted the thickest cover you have seen. She is one hell of a tough dog for her size and age. I honestly have no idea how or what she could do better at this point. She's still is a puppy around the house but hunting she is where most dogs are at maybe 3 yrs. It will really be interesting to see what and how she changes through the season. I really can' t tell you how good she is at hunting etc. I'm lost for words about her she's that good. Thanks so much for her and i will keep you updated on her as we go along . Her bird count in 2 days was 6 the limit for me and flushed and retrieved 4 for my partner that his very good lab missed or did not find. That's enough bragging for now but i can hardly believe her myself along with others how well she has done. again my thanks to you and your family for Kate - the one that got away. Nov 2005, Report on Started Dog:
Nov 2005 (Report on a Started Dog) DearJerry, I took Stack to a large public area in Central Iowa. Just Stack and me; a beautiful, snow covered area with very heavy and high prairie grass type cover. He worked very well, requiring very few whistles and no reminders about staying close and either jumped through the cover or sub-marined under it, popping up now and then. We found a couple of hens, then, finally, a rooster, which I winged. He went down and then under the cover. Stack looked for him, went under the cover for a while and finally emerged with the bird, which was almost as big as he was and very much alive and able to run! What a great moment. He didn't want to give it up very badly! In the next 40 minutes, we found and bagged two more birds! He found and retrieved both of them (they were dead when they hit the ground and easy to find). All in all, it was a great two hours and the first limit of birds I have taken in quite a while. It's wonderful when everything clicks! Anyway, I am very pleased with him, my wife loves him, he is making excellent progress and, I think, will become a great pheasant dog as he gains even more experience. Hope all is well with you and yours and thanks again for Stack. Win in Iowa

Got the paperwork the same day that I e-mailed
you. Thanks a lot and we love our new little girl. I'll keep in touch off
and on to let
you know how she's progressing. I'm just totally amazed at how she responds to basic obedience commands and I swear that these field-bred springers have got to be the smartest dogs in the world! Enclosed are some pics to show that our new little girl has adapted
to her new environment. She and "Skeet"
get along great and she goes everywhere he goes. I think they're going
to make a great
team. Thanks again

Jerry,
I just wanted to thank you and your family again for your hospitality while we were up looking at the pups. I was very apprehensive about getting another dog so close to losing our Labs, but when we got to your place and I saw the 2 pups that you had my heart just melted. I was quickly reminded of the joy that our lost friends had brought us and I knew that we had to start all over again! I was a little intimidated as far as training her, but she is so smart that training her is easy. She picks up commands in just a few sessions. She just does what she is suppose to do and waits eagerly for her reward. When she sees me getting the place boards out, without command she'll eagerly jump on one, hup and look at me like " o.k. I did it where's the hot dog!" She's great. I was wanting to train her for Agility, but Willie ordered a subscription to Gun Dog and I read the stories in there about these great hunting dogs and I just know that she would be awesome. I have never wanted to hunt birds, but I'll do it just to see her work! Monica and Willie, Las Vegas NV
Jerry, We are so happy with little Emma we don't know where to begin. She is a marvelous dog in so many ways. I am just so glad that we found you. I hope you and yours are well and happy. Attached find a picture. Yours, Eric in Montana
Jerry,
I just
wanted to send you a quick picture of Ginny that I purchased from you in 2001.
This was her third bird season and we were only out for a few minutes (see
picture below:). She is a great hunting dog. I would actually say she
is a bird finding machine. I have many times followed other hunters who have
dogs and have picked up many birds they do not flush. Ginny also retrieves a
lot of missed birds as well. Her flush is explosive. She has actually pulled
pheasants out of the air. Her water entry is impressive as well. At my
parents house in Sandpoint Idaho she dives off their dock without hesitation.
Her only fault as far as hunting goes is that if you let her she will hunt
till she drops. She never turns her birdiness off. I have to regulate her
hunting by stopping for a treat and water breaks throughout the day.
As Far as
a home dog, she is very loving. She follows me every where I go. She is also
very tolerant of kids. We have friends with toddlers that crawl all over her
and do the normal toddler stuff. She plays with them and never shows
aggression. Her only home fault has to do with food stealing. So far she has
been convicted of grand theft pancake.
She is a
great dog and I would not want to sell her for a million dollars.
Thanks
again,
Joe Richards
