Jordan Valley's Sporty Spice (dam) Jordan Valley's Strong Signal (sire) Spice is one of the birdiest dogs I've ever owned. Back in Idaho she literally wore a track around the periphery of my 2500 square foot pheasant pen. In some places it was 6" deep. When I let her out for exercise the pen was always the first place she would go and she took great pleasure in spooking the birds inside. However, her love of birds is only part of the reason I'm crazy about this dog. It's amazing to me how such an active dog in the field can be so mellow in the kennel. She never jumps around or acts like anything's a big deal. She rarely even barks. Rather, she sits calmly and watches my every move until the kennel door swings open, and then, upon command, she's off like a shot. Spice is a great dog with a perfect spaniel temperament. I love this dog. Her puppies take after her. Signal is a wonderful and well rounded male. He's so powerful and he's as complete a bird finder as I've had and he never gives up on a retrieve. With style to spare he's beautiful to watch work and he can track a running pheasant as well as anything out there. He is the strongest dog I've every owned yet one of the most biddable.
